Caroline Merideth is a civil litigator with experience representing clients at the trial and appellate level in both state and federal court. Caroline also assists clients with pre-litigation disputes and other needs. Prior to joining the firm, Caroline began her civil litigation career at the Texas Attorney General’s Office where she defended public officials and governmental entities in constitutional, tort, and employment litigation matters for three years. Before serving as an assistant attorney general, Caroline practiced criminal defense in Austin, Texas for five years.
 

Representative Matters

  • Served as lead counsel defending First Amendment claims brought against governmental entity.
  • Defended constitutionality of Texas Business Code in a declaratory judgment action seeking to declare statute preempted by the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
  • Intervened in multi-party action to defend facial challenge to Natural Resources Code.
  • Defended constitutionality of motor vehicle direct-sales prohibition and Texas Whistleblower Act damages cap.
  • Served as lead trial counsel in federal jury trial representing individual capacity defendant in civil rights suit.
  • Represented governmental entities as trial and appellate counsel in employment suits.
  • Member of trial team successful in seeking $8 million settlement on behalf of State of Texas for claims brought under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act.
